Palm Springs is the perfect location for a long weekend getaway but can you bring your four legged friend? Well the answer is YES! Loads of the best restaurants and activities around the city are dog friendly! Here are some of my favourites.
Dog Friendly Activities in Palm Springs
Explore The Architecture of the Indian Canyons Neighbourhood
The residential neighbourhoods in the Indian Canyons region are home to some of the most incredible mid-century houses that Palm Springs has become known for. Just wandering around this area is one of the best things to do in the city, just remember to be respectful of residents and keep dogs close.
Moorten Botanical Garden
The iconic Moorten Botanical Garden allows dogs to accompany their owners around the acre of trees, plants and cacti. Tickets are only $5 so it’s well worth spending a morning exploring. Don’t miss out on the incredible cacti green house!
Palm Springs Air Museum
The Palm Springs Air Museum is one of the most popular activities in the city and yes they do allow dogs as long as they kept on a leash. Home to one of the world’s largest collections of static & flyable aircraft from as early as WW2, the museum allows you to get up close and personal to a huge range of unique and iconic aircraft.
Dog Friendly Restaurants in Palm Springs
Boozehounds
The tagline of Boozehounds is “Where dogs bring their humans” so it’s safe to say your furry friend will be well cared for! The restaurant, which is well known for its brunch offering, is beautiful with a stunning courtyard and delicious menus for both humans and dogs. Be sure to book in advance, especially at the weekend!
Farm
Another stunning restaurant that is perfect for brunch, Farm is a French themed cafe/restaurant with a gorgeous outdoor courtyard that allows dogs. The food and setting are both amazing so it’s well worth a visit.
Do note that in California, all dogs must remain on the floor, even if the restaurant is dog-friendly!
Dog Friendly Hikes in Palm Springs – Mission Creek Preserve
While the popular Indian Canyon Trails aren’t dog friendly, you can still stretch your legs at Mission Creek Preserve. About 25 minutes from Downtown Palm Springs, the preserve offers miles of hiking trails that are suitable for four legs as well as 2. As always when in the desert, make sure to bring enough water for everyone!
Dog Friendly Hotels in Palm Springs
There are actually lots of hotels in Palm Springs that are pet friendly but here are some of the most iconic ones that will accept dogs, as well as some of the restrictions.
Les Cactus – Dogs under 35 lbs are allowed at $100 per dog per stay. Maximum 2 dogs per room.
